All Eyes on Ikeja as Media Heavyweights Converge for Oshanugor Book Launch |Omohglobalnews

Anticipation is building within Nigeria’s media and security circles as the Editor-in-Chief of Atlanticnewsonline, Frank Oshanugor, prepares to publicly present his new book, Crime Beat Reporting in Nigeria, in what promises to be a defining moment for journalism discourse in the country.

The grand presentation is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the prestigious Lagos Airport Hotel, where stakeholders across diverse sectors are expected to converge for the landmark event.

The ceremony, billed to commence at 10 a.m., will hold at the Osun Hall of the venue and is projected to draw high-profile dignitaries spanning the security, banking, maritime and academic communities, underscoring the broad relevance of crime reporting in national development.

Chairman of the Book Presentation Committee, Emma Nnadozie, disclosed that the event will be chaired by Davidson Akhimien, a former military intelligence officer and current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of King David Group of Companies.

Adding further prestige to the occasion, the book will be formally unveiled by renowned industrialist Richard Ifeanyi Agbapuru, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RichyGold Group of Companies, while respected academic Chijioke Uwasomba of Obafemi Awolowo University will serve as the official reviewer.

In a symbolic nod to excellence in journalism, the role of Mother of the Day will be performed by veteran journalist and royal figure Janet Mba Afolabi, further amplifying the stature of the gathering.

Oshanugor’s latest work is widely regarded as a culmination of decades of hands-on experience in crime reporting, offering deep insights into the evolution, challenges and ethical considerations that define the beat in Nigeria’s media landscape.

According to Nnadozie, the book is expected to serve as a critical resource for students of Mass Communication and practitioners alike, providing both historical context and practical guidance on crime journalism in Nigeria.

A seasoned journalist with nearly three decades of professional experience, Oshanugor previously authored Terrorism The Nigeria Experience 1995 to 1998 and has maintained a strong footprint in security journalism, including the publication of Security Express magazine.

An alumnus of the University of Port Harcourt and University of Lagos, where he earned a Master’s degree in Political Science, he also holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from Auchi Polytechnic, reflecting a solid academic foundation.

Beyond journalism, Oshanugor is a Certified Protection Officer accredited by the International Foundation for Protection Officers in Miami, United States, and has built a reputation as a publisher, having overseen the production of numerous titles for other authors through his company.

From his early days at the Post Express newspaper, where he rose to the rank of Deputy News Editor, to his current leadership role in the media industry, Oshanugor’s journey underscores a career defined by resilience, expertise and enduring contributions to Nigeria’s journalism landscape.
