The newly inaugurated 9TH Legislative Council of Ado Odo Ota Local Government has successfully held its first session at the Council Legislative Chamber , marking another significant milestone in the administration of the Council area
The Leader of the House Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu ACA, welcomed Honourable members and congratulated them on the recently concluded swearing in ceremony. He charged them to be more dedicated to legislative duties. Thereafter, The Clerk of the House Mr. Isikalu Goriola FCPA, opened deliberation on the code of conduct and standing orders that will guide their operations. The commitment to uphold transparency, accountability, and good governance is evident in the House decision to prioritize the establishment of a code of conduct and standing orders. This move is expected to promote integrity and responsibility among Council members.
As the Councilors begin their tenure, residents of Ado Odo Ota can expect a more robust and inclusive approach to governance. The Honorable Councillors demonstrated dedication to represent their various wards with integrity and transparency. The inaugural session sets the tone for a productive and effective legislative Council that prioritizes the needs and interests of the people. Residents can look forward to a brighter future.
During the session, the Deputy Leader, Hon. Oseni Lateef representing Alapoti ward called for a minute of silence in honor of the late party chieftain of the All Progressive Congress Alhaji Tajudeen Tijani from Ado Odo area of the Council.
Furthermore, the House members welcomed the Executives of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees NULGE Ado Odo Ota Branch led by the Chairman Comrade Jamiu Moshood Ayoyemi who were on a courtesy visit to the House. The Union Chairman appreciated the House for their time and congratulated them for their successful inaugural ceremony and first session. He implored the Legislators to make good bye laws for the development of Council area and pledged the Union support.
In his response, the Leader Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu thanked Comrade Ayoyemi Jamiu for the visit, he advised the union leaders to also embrace consolidations rather than confrontation and assured them of the cooperation of House.
