Larrybash Sponsors Ota Fest 2026, Pledges Support for Youth Creativity

Hon. Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as Larrybash, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, has sponsored Ota Fest 2026, reinforcing his commitment to youth development and the promotion of arts, culture and creativity.

The annual festival, which celebrates the artistic talents and cultural heritage of young people in Ota and its environs, featured musical performances, traditional Egungun displays and art exhibitions.

Organisers commended Larrybash for his support, describing his involvement as a significant boost to the event and its efforts to provide a platform for emerging talents in the creative industry.

Speaking at the festival, Bashorun emphasised the growing importance of the creative economy and the need to empower young people to discover, develop and showcase their talents.

He noted that arts, culture, music and other creative ventures were increasingly contributing to the global economy, while offering opportunities to tackle unemployment, poverty and idleness among young people.

“We must accept the reality of a new age where the contribution of art, culture, music and creative concepts to the global economy is increasing dramatically on a daily basis. It is the same creativity that takes our young people out of poverty, unemployment and idleness,” he said.

He warned that neglecting the creative sector could have negative consequences for communities and the country, stressing the need for sustained investment in initiatives that promote indigenous arts and preserve cultural identity.

Bashorun pledged to continue supporting programmes that nurture young talents, promote indigenous creativity and strengthen the recognition of local cultural heritage at national and international levels.

A major highlight of the festival was a live portrait painting of Larrybash by an artist while he was seated, alongside other artistic displays and entertainment performances.

Participants and creative industry enthusiasts at the event applauded Bashorun for supporting youth-oriented initiatives, expressing optimism that his commitment would translate into greater opportunities for young people in the constituency.

Some attendees also pledged their support for his ambition to represent Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, expressing hope that youth empowerment and development would receive greater attention.
