2027: KBJ Launches Grassroots APC Mobilisation Drive Across 16 Wards in Ado-Odo/Ota Party Chieftains, Laribash, Oludegun, Other Stakeholders Rally Behind Initiative

By Ọmọsọla Olumide

OTA, Ogun State — Ahead of the 2027 general elections, prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder, Hon. Kelani Bolaji (KBJ), has launched a grassroots mobilisation initiative aimed at strengthening the party’s structures across the 16 wards of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State.

The initiative, tagged Grassroot Voters Support for APC, was unveiled on Friday, October 9, 2026, at a gathering of party leaders, political stakeholders, community representatives and supporters committed to expanding the party’s grassroots reach ahead of the elections.

The initiative is designed to strengthen the APC’s presence at the ward and polling-unit levels through coordinated community engagement, door-to-door mobilisation and voter outreach. It also seeks to consolidate support for the party’s candidates across the various elective positions, including its Ogun State governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

Speaking at the launch, KBJ emphasised the importance of grassroots participation and effective coordination in building a strong electoral structure. He expressed confidence that sustained engagement with residents and party supporters would help strengthen the APC’s prospects in Ado-Odo/Ota ahead of the 2027 polls.

A key component of the initiative is the proposed engagement of community polling-unit coordinators, who are expected to facilitate communication between the party’s grassroots structures and residents, coordinate mobilisation activities and encourage eligible voters to participate in the electoral process.

The gathering attracted several prominent political figures, including former Ogun State Commissioner, Hon. Aare Olayiwola Taiwo; APC candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Hon. Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as Laribash; Ota State Constituency I candidate, Hon. Oludegun Abayomi Okikiola; and Ado-Odo/Ota APC Chairman, Chief J. J. Akeran.

Also in attendance were senior legislative aides, community leaders, party executives and representatives of women’s groups, alongside other party faithful from the 16 wards.

Participants commended KBJ for initiating the mobilisation framework, describing grassroots organisation and sustained engagement with voters as important elements of effective political participation and electoral preparedness.

The event ended with pledges by party executives, ward representatives and supporters to work collectively towards strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures and expanding its engagement with communities across Ado-Odo/Ota.

The initiative marks another effort by APC stakeholders in the local government to build a coordinated grassroots network ahead of the 2027 general elections.
