MUSHIN, Lagos State — The Mushin community has been thrown into mourning following the death of prominent political, social and transport figure, Chief Taorid Faronbi, popularly known as Baba Alado.
The family announced his passing, bringing to an end years of uncertainty surrounding earlier reports of his alleged death, which had circulated without official confirmation from his relatives.
Chief Faronbi was a well-known figure in Mushin and Lagos State, with strong connections across the political, social and transport sectors. He was also recognised as a prominent leader within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos.
His death is expected to be deeply felt by NURTW members, political associates, community leaders, friends and residents of Mushin who interacted with him over the years.
Baba Alado's influence cut across various sections of Mushin's social and political landscape, where he maintained relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
