LAGOS, Nigeria – Nollywood actor Charles Okocha has finally avenged his controversial 2023 defeat to controversial singer Portable, securing a dramatic victory in their much-anticipated "Chaos in the Ring 4" celebrity boxing rematch after Portable abandoned the ring during the opening round.
The highly anticipated contest, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, ended in dramatic fashion when Portable, after absorbing a series of heavy punches from Okocha, exited the ring and refused to continue the fight.
With the singer failing to return for the remaining rounds, match officials declared Okocha the winner by disqualification.
The rematch came after Okocha exercised his rematch clause following his disputed loss to Portable in December 2023. Determined to settle the score, the actor dominated the early exchanges and appeared firmly in control before his opponent's unexpected withdrawal.
An elated Okocha celebrated the victory with his team, describing it as long-awaited redemption after nearly 18 months. He also wasted no time in calling out popular comedian and social media influencer Carter Efe as his preferred opponent for a future celebrity boxing showdown.
Although fans expected an intense battle between the two entertainers, the contest ended prematurely in chaotic circumstances, leaving spectators stunned.
For Okocha, however, the outcome marked the perfect revenge, as he erased the memories of his previous defeat and emerged victorious in one of Nigeria's most talked-about celebrity boxing events.
