"Mention One Project Your Candidate Has Done" - Olumako Challenges Group, Says Yayi's Impact Cuts Across 3 Senatorial Districts

The Director General of Yayi Liberator in Ogun State, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako, has described the group parading itself as “Ogun West Concerned Stakeholders” as political jobbers and rented mouths who only resurface during election seasons to sell lies against leaders who are delivering results.
The group, at a news conference in Ilaro on Friday, opposed the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI. They questioned his indigene status and accused him of working against Ogun West’s aspiration in 2019 and 2023. The group also declared support for PDP’s Mr Gambler.
Reacting swiftly, Comrade Olumako dismissed the press conference as a sponsored comedy skit designed to distract a performing Senator who has put Ogun West on the national map through massive infrastructure and federal presence.
“For the records, Senator YAYI was born in Ilaro. His roots are in Yewa land. You cannot wake up today and attempt to delete a man’s identity because you have been paid to do so. Indigeneity is not by press conference. It is by birth, by blood, and by contribution,” Comrade Olumako stated.
He accused the group of suffering from “political amnesia”, noting that the same Senator they now attack was the one who delivered votes, structures, and federal visibility for Ogun West in 2019 and 2023 when others abandoned the zone.
“Let them mention one election where YAYI did not stand with Ogun West. They cannot. But we can mention 53 projects he has delivered across Ogun West. We can mention classrooms in Oke-Ore, PHCs in Atan and Sango, roads in Ijoko and Temidire, solar streetlights in Ipokia, and the ultra-modern market in Agbara. And beyond Ogun West, Senator Yayi has stretched his hand of project delivery across all 3 senatorial zones in Ogun State. That is what a true leader does,” he added.
On the group’s endorsement of Mr Gambler, the Yayi Liberator DG threw a direct challenge.
“If they truly mean well for Ogun West, let them come out and mention one project their candidate has done in this state. Just one. Ogun West deserves facts, not rented press conferences. It is shameful that a group claiming to speak for us would endorse a serial loser whose only political legacy is sharing freezers and transformers and coming back to collect them after losing elections. That is not leadership. That is fraud. Ogun West deserves a governor with capacity, not a contractor who rents people,” Comrade Olumako said.
He further described the so-called “5,000 members” as imaginary, saying real stakeholders in Ogun West are market women in Ilaro and Ifo, artisans in Sango, students in OOU, and traditional rulers who are already testifying to Senator Yayi’s impact.
“Ogun West has suffered enough from political deception. We will not trade a builder for a borrower. We will not trade a performer for a propagandist. 2027 will be decided at the ballot, not in a beer parlour press conference in Ilaro,” he declared.
Comrade Olumako urged the people of Ogun West to ignore the sponsored attack and continue to support Senator Yayi, whom he described as the only candidate with the federal reach, legislative experience, and track record to move Ogun State forward.
“Senator YAYI is not new to Ogun West. He is not a visitor. He is home. And home will reward him in 2027,” he concluded.
