The Management of D. S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, has received with shock and deep concern a viral press statement and video credited to the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Babatunde Akinteye, alleging the existence of NELFUND-related fraud within the Institution.
The Management wishes to categorically state that the allegations are false, misleading, and entirely without factual basis.
D. S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, is an institution built on the principles of integrity, academic excellence, transparency, and accountability. Over the years, the Polytechnic has maintained a strong reputation for ethical conduct and responsible administration in all its operations.
As a responsible institution committed to fairness, honesty, and good governance, the Polytechnic would never engage in any act capable of undermining the Federal Government’s educational and social intervention programmes, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). Our commitment to due process and institutional integrity remains unwavering.
The Institution also remains fully aligned with the educational transformation agenda and welfare initiatives of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as well as the developmental vision of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, through the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu.
Furthermore, the Governing Council of D. S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, under the leadership of Ambassador Toye Okanlawon, continues to strengthen the Institution’s culture of accountability, transparency, and prudent resource management. The Council remains committed to ensuring that all administrative and financial processes conform with established regulations and global best practices.
In the spirit of openness and accountability, the Management hereby invites the National President of NANS and other relevant stakeholders to visit the Institution for a comprehensive fact-finding exercise, including a forensic audit of all NELFUND-related records and transactions. We are confident that such an exercise will affirm the Polytechnic’s strict compliance with all applicable guidelines and procedures.
As an institution dedicated to nurturing future leaders grounded in integrity, excellence, and decency, we strongly condemn the spread of unverified information capable of damaging the reputation of individuals and institutions.
We therefore reiterate that the allegations contained in the said statement and video are false, unfounded, and should be disregarded by the public.
The Management remains focused on its mandate of providing quality technical and vocational education while upholding the values of transparency, accountability, and service to humanity.
Thank you.
Management
