The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, has presented the proposed 2026 budget before the Legislative Council, describing it as a strategic blueprint aimed at driving growth and strengthening communities across the council area. The presentation, held at the Legislative Chambers, underscored the administration’s commitment to delivering impactful governance and improving the living standards of residents.
Speaking during the presentation, the Chairman noted that the 2026 proposal, tagged “Budget of Amenities Restoration and Improvement,” reflects the collective aspiration of the people and the government’s resolve to reposition the local government for sustainable development. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah, the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, and the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, for their continued support, while also appreciating the people of Ado-Odo/Ota for their trust in his administration.
Hon. Wasiu further acknowledged the unwavering support of the Legislative Council, stating that their cooperation since the inception of the administration has helped the government navigate challenges and achieve steady progress. He emphasized that the journey has been a collective effort, driven by unity of purpose and dedication to service.
Reviewing the 2025 fiscal performance of a budget size of #12,628,933,900, the Chairman disclosed that the approved revenue budgeted for statutory allocation for the Local government was #11,376,983,900, #7,125,551,728 was actualized from the budgeted showing 62.63%, while #251,950,000 was budgeted for internally generated revenue, ₦193.964,788.60 million, achieving 76.99% of its target. He attributed the improved IGR performance to deliberate measures taken to block revenue leakages and expressed optimism that the record would be surpassed in the current year. #1,000,000,000 was budgeted as grant from State Government, #200,000,000 received representing 20%
of budgeted amount to support capital projects.
On expenditure, the Chairman stated that the total spending for 2025 stood at ₦7.151,563,485.97 billion, #10,592,433,900 was budgeted for personnel cost, overhead cost and consolidated revenue fund, #6,908,091,828.47 representing 47.82%, 32.96% and 71.89% respectively. He added that over ₦243,471,657.50 representing 11.96% of the budgeted amount was invested in capital projects from the budgeted #2,036,500,000, including road grading, drainage construction, borehole installations, school renovation, and infrastructure upgrades across various communities within the local government

1.Construction of drainage system and asphalt laying primary health care center Ota
2.Construction of box culvert Ewupe/Ijaliye
3.Grading of roads across the 16 wards of the Local Government.
4.Sinking of 4 motorized borehole, installation and provisions of Generator to power at Ado-odo Ward1, Akinde village oko omi Iju Ward, Idi Oke community Ketu ward and Ewupe Ward 2 Ota.
5.Renovation of Primary School at Ipatira, Ejila Awori Ward
6.Landscaping of the Local Government Secretariat to control flooding
7.Construction of two entrance gates at Ota Maternity Centre and Works and Housing department of the Secretariat.
8.Construction Box Culvert and drainage at Plaza Road, Sango Ward.
9.Renovation of offices at the local Government Secretariat
10. Provision of Solar .
Powered Street Light Pole at the Local Government Secretariat
11. Repair of caterpillar Grader Machine 14G of the Local Government.
Presenting the 2026 budget proposal, Hon. Wasiu announced a total estimate of ₦13.248,024,900 describing it as a balanced budget designed to address key developmental needs. He explained that the budget would be funded through statutory allocations, internally generated revenue, and state grants, with a strong focus on transparency.
The Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu Akanji, ACA, described the 2026 budget as a strategic roadmap for governance and a reflection of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people. He noted that the “Budget of Amenities Restoration and Improvement” goes beyond figures, embodying the aspirations of communities, the promise of sustainable development, and government’s resolve to deliver impactful governance. He further assured that the Legislative Council would subject the budget to thorough scrutiny, emphasizing accountability and transparency, while pledging that the House would ensure all allocations align with the needs of the people and ultimately serve the common good.
