Barrister Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji legend K1 De Ultimate, has officially declared her intention to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made on March 17, 2026, through her Instagram page, where she informed her followers of her decision to step into elective politics.
Barr. Dami Marshal, who currently serves as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Arts and Culture to the Governor of Lagos State, revealed that she will be contesting to represent Surulere Constituency II under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
In her statement, she wrote that she is ready to serve the people and represent the voice of the youths in the Assembly.
“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
I am a woman of excellence and results, and I am ready to serve and lead.
For 12 years, I have practiced as a lawyer, and that experience has shaped my understanding of governance, justice, and the real needs of my people.
I promise to be the voice of the youths in the House.
Vote competence. Choose progress. Youth Lokan!!! Igbega Eko, Ajumose wa ni.”
Her declaration has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting her ambition while others questioned her eligibility to represent the constituency, citing her family roots in Ijebu, Ogun State.
Some supporters described her candidacy as a welcome development, while critics argued that she should contest in her state of origin instead of Surulere in Lagos.
The debate continues online as political discussions begin to build ahead of the 2027 elections.
