President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Tunji Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police, succeeding Kayode Egbetokun.
A Presidency source confirmed the development to ARISE News on Tuesday, noting that an official announcement is expected shortly.
“AIG Tunji Disu is the new IGP. Confirmed,” the source disclosed, adding that the appointment had received “double confirmation.”
Attempts to get a response from the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
Disu recently assumed office as Assistant Inspector-General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Onikan, Lagos. Widely regarded as a seasoned and result-driven police officer, he has built a reputation for operational excellence and impactful reforms across various commands.
