OGUN @ 50: Ado-Odo/Ota LG Boss Extols State Governor 's Achievements..... Promises More Democracy Dividends |Omohglobalnews

The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, widely known as the “Local Government of Distinction,” Alhaji Wasiu Lawal, FCA, has commended the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his developmental strides as the state marks its Golden Jubilee.

He made the remarks on Friday during the celebration of Ogun State’s 50th anniversary at the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat.

Lawal described the milestone as a historic moment, noting that Ogun State has recorded significant progress since its creation on February 3, 1976. He praised Governor Abiodun for transforming the state through massive road construction, housing projects, improved hospital management, better school infrastructure, economic development programmes, enhanced power supply, and investment initiatives that have made Ogun more business-friendly and habitable.

The chairman noted that the governor’s political mantra, “ISEYA,” has served as an inspirational guide for the administration’s commitment to building a more prosperous Ogun State. He also expressed appreciation for the governor’s special attention to Ado-Odo/Ota, particularly in the area of road network improvements across the council.

Reaffirming his administration’s priorities, Lawal said the local government would continue to provide essential amenities. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve primary education through the renovation of dilapidated classroom blocks, construction of new ones, and the provision of furniture and instructional materials.

He also announced plans to introduce incentive awards to encourage academic excellence among outstanding pupils.

The chairman assured residents that his administration would strengthen primary healthcare services by renovating existing health facilities and providing the necessary medical equipment to enhance service delivery across the local government.

Lawal also pledged to prioritise staff welfare by ensuring the prompt payment of salaries and allowances, as well as reviewing staff welfare loans to reflect current economic realities.

He expressed gratitude to party leaders in the local government for their moral support and commended career officers for their professionalism, effectiveness, and efficiency in service delivery.

In his closing remarks, the chairman assured residents of Ado-Odo/Ota that more developmental projects and democratic dividends would be delivered by his administration.

The event was attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, technocrats, and community leaders, many of whom delivered keynote addresses to mark the celebration.
