The 12th Octagon Media Anniversary Lecture and Champions Award Night lit up the Leotori Halls and Lodge, Lagos, on Thursday, 27 November 2025, drawing an impressive lineup of leaders from both the public and private sectors.

Aare Adetola Emmanuel-King, Group Managing Director of Adron Homes & Properties, clinched the coveted Octagon Media Man of the Year 2025, while Lagos State University (LASU) was recognized as Most Digitally Innovative University of the Year (Nigeria).





The evening opened on a vibrant note, expertly steered by media professional and Omohglobalnews Editor-in-Chief, Omoh Baba, whose hosting set the tone for an energetic celebration. Segun Success Band and various hip-hop performers added rhythmic spark as the awards spotlighted excellence in banking, housing, transportation, security, community service, heritage, and innovation.

  • ACP Adeniyi Agboola – Notable Community Policing Advocate of the Year
  • Chief Ibilola Kamilat Subair, Esq. – Most Resourceful & Notable State Board Chairman of the Year
  • Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA – Most Innovative Local Government Executive Chairman of the Year

Event Chairman, Engr. Kehinde Kolade, commended the organizers for the privilege of chairing the ceremony and applauded Octagon Media’s steady relevance in the Nigerian media space.

Representing LASU, Prof. Afisu Taiwo Oseni, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), celebrated the recognition of LASU’s digital strides and its distinction as the most-sought-after institution in the 2025 JAMB admissions.

The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), represented by Agbaakin, highlighted the union’s far-reaching empowerment, education, and welfare programs that have supported over a thousand members nationwide.

In his goodwill message, HRM Oba Olabode Thomas-Fagbayi Adeyombo II reaffirmed Tigbo-Ilu Kingdom’s support for Octagon Media’s vision and encouraged the organization to continue projecting Nigeria in a positive light.



Octagon Media’s Editor-in-Chief, Comr. Olatunji Egbewunmi, reflected on 12 years of celebrating national achievers. He expressed gratitude to his wife, partners, PR teams, and advertisers, while pledging an even grander 2026 edition.

As Octagon Media marks its 12th year as a national print and online publication, the platform continues to cement its place as a key voice in Nigeria’s evolving media landscape.
