Applications for this year’s edition opened on Friday, September 19, 2025, and will close on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, Group Head, Women Banking, Nene Kunle-Ogunlusi, highlighted the impact of the initiative since its inception in 2019.
“The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-Ton has supported hundreds of women through business training, mentorship, and funding. This year, we’re back and better—offering female entrepreneurs the platform to scale their businesses, gain visibility, and connect with like-minded trailblazers across Africa,” she said.
The 2025 programme will feature an intensive Mini-MBA course, developed in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), equipping participants with world-class knowledge and skills to build sustainable businesses. In addition, over ₦17.5 million in grants will be awarded to the most outstanding entrepreneurs, while other finalists will also benefit from consolation prizes and business support services.
Oyeyipo Ifeoluwa, Project Manager of the initiative, revealed that the programme has so far trained 878 women and awarded grants worth $175,000. “The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-Ton is not just a competition; it is a holistic journey designed to transform women-led businesses and strengthen Africa’s economic growth,” she added.
The programme is open to female entrepreneurs whose businesses are registered, have been in existence for at least one year, and in which they hold a minimum of 50% ownership.
