The Ogun State branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has announced Lion Pharmacist Debo Afolayan as a recipient of its prestigious Merit Award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the pharmacy profession and to the growth of the Society.
In an official statement released by the State Chairman, Pharmacist Otunba Adewale Adenuga, the PSN lauded Pharmacist Afolayan’s distinguished professional career, leadership, and humanitarian service. The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Pharmacist Afolayan, the Chief Executive Officer of Profice Specialities Limited, began his career at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. He later advanced through the private pharmaceutical sector, including a notable tenure at Elbe Pharma Services, where he rose from Area Manager (Lagos) to Head of Sales and Marketing before voluntarily resigning in 2014 to pursue his entrepreneurial and humanitarian interests.
Beyond his professional achievements, Afolayan is a dedicated humanitarian and passionate volunteer. Through his active involvement in Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, he has led and supported several impactful community initiatives. He is currently District Governor-Elect of Lions Clubs International, District 404-B4 Nigeria, and is set to formally assume office on July 1, 2025.
Afolayan is widely recognized for his leadership, excellence, and commitment to service. He is a recipient of numerous awards, both within the pharmaceutical field and in the humanitarian sector.
