Hon. Tunji Akinosi Discloses N1billion Constituency Intervention Boost... implores Journalists on objectivity and credible reportage

Federal lawmaker representing Ado-Odo/Otta Federal Constituency, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, has disclosed Federal Government #1billion  Zonal Intervention Project fund increment and the commitment during a courtesy  visit by Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), independent Online Chapel, Ota, Ogun state council, led by his chairman Comrade Kayode Taiwo on Monday 16th June, 2025 in Ota. 

Hon. Akinosi stated that Ado-Odo/Otta is one of the largest federal constituencies in the country. Saying that "About 80% of its roads fall under federal jurisdiction, making it difficult for state or local authorities to handle alone.”. Also, he gave the updates on critical infrastructure challenges, especially road repairs and education in the constituency and federal government empathy with residents and business sectors within the area which to led to the boost of the fund. 

He revealed that the Zonal Intervention fund has been increased to #1 billion in the constituency to support the needs due to its peculiarity, in which #700 million has been proposed for rehabilitation and upgrading of roads and local  schools, while #200 million  for solar-powered street lighting across dark spot to prevent miscreant taking unnecessary opportunities  to cause mayhem at odd times and #100 million to support agriculture and increase local food supplies in the constituency. 



He assured the constituency of federal government support in some major areas that needs urgent support as effort are being made to secure ecological fund for some major roads like Konifewo/Ajibode road, Ado Odo /Atan Ikanga express road and Ojuore to prevent further harms and ensure safety of lives and properties. 


He was delighted to meet the members  of the NUj Ota chapel and charged members to always provides credible reportage, fairness,  objectivity and unbiased mind and do more of investigative journalism during the cause of discharging their duties to member of the public. 

He acknowledged shying away from journalists as its difficult to differentiate between journalists and bloggers in this social media era, who are bend on traffic building through any means to gain followers rather than fact. Adding that cyberbullying is now a crime which member of public should  be cautious of.  Therefore he promised to work together with his locality as " politic is local" he emphasised. 


The visit concluded with mutual assurances of collaboration between the lawmaker and the NUJ Independent Online Chapel to foster transparency, accountability, and community development through credible journalism.
