His Royal Majesty, the Oba of Ondo, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo JILO III, CFR, the Osemawe Kiladejo 1, has commended the Founder of Asun Carnival, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, Founder, La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort Worldwide, for bringing up the annual Asun Carnival which he said, is now poised to be a great unifying factor among the indigenes of Ondo State, Nigerians generally and Africans at large.

The monarch who spoke through his representative, Chief Akinbileje liyemoja of Ondo Kingdom, said that, he is impressed by the massive crowd that has turned up for the event this year, and the fact that, Asun Carnival has this year, brought home to Ondo, sons and daughters of the state, as well as friends from home and abroad.

“The rain the previous day, was actually to render special blessings to this year’s Asun Carnival. As today Saturday has arrived with a clear weather, necessary for Asun Carnival celebration for this year 2024,” he added.

As early as 10am, the venue, Adeyemi College Stadium in the South West state of Ondo had started receiving visitors, students from University of Medical Sciences, Federal Polytechnic, ile-oluji and then the host Adeyemi Federal University of Education.

The Founder of Asun Carnival, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye was there early in person, to ensure that all necessary details were taken care of, along with him were some officials in the state, friends who hold different portfolios in government.

And Asun Carnival took off with a funfair, the stadium full to the brim with different activities taking place all at the same time. Entertainers on the grand stage, footballers about to take the final football competition on the pitch warming up, the competitors for the Asun competition setting up to showcase their prowess, the gallantly dressed Carnival procession, waiting to display their colourful dance displays and the entire crowd was in an ecstatic frenzy this particular afternoon.

Asun Carnival had it so good this year, from entertainment presentations by campus music stars to the best of Atunda Entertainment stars! Olo Omidan Bata, who gave an extraordinary performance that shook the whole stadium. While the performance from Tasha, another Atunda Entertainment branded star kept everyone on the edge of their seats throughout the performance! Indeed a 5 star music performance. Then came Ara Thunder, the female drummer, the Ibo lady who plays gangan in Yoruba language! She capped the evening with an electrifying world class performance that delighted everyone at the stadium, as people fell over one another, to catch some of the recordings, on their phone cells.

A winner eventually emerged for the Asun competition, and so did a winner emerge at the annual Asun football final competition. The kick off by the founder of Asun Carnival and the representative of Oba Osemawe Kiladejo 1, Chief Akinbileje liyemoja of Ondo Kingdom set the stage for the winning team to emerge.

Asun Carnival 2024 had a flavour of human and interest, with the Kolokun competition, where a goat was set free to be caught by the smartest racer from the massive crowd. So people came out, registered their names and partook in the hilarious, cheerful game. And it was in two part, the female and the male part. The winners went home with the goats that they caught!

Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye the Founder of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort Worldwide, Continent Building Initiatives, Destination Ondo and the Visionary behind Asun Carnival, thanked everyone that had made the event a great success and said that next year’s Asun Carnival 2025 will surpass this year’s event.
