ADO-ODO/OTA LG PRESENTS #6.9 Billion BUDGET FOR YEAR 2024 |Omohglobalnews

The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Engr. Sheriff Adewale Musa FCPA on Tuesday presented a proposed budget of six billion nine hundred and ninety three thousand, two hundred and eighty seven thousand (#6,993,287,000)  tagged budget of fulfilment to the legislators at the local government legislative Chamber for approval.

The Council Boss, during his presentation said the year 2024 budget was specifically designed to create an enabling environment for sustainable development and building on previous years' achievements. He added that the budget was built around the people by ensuring that projects that would have direct impact on the lives of the people are executed.


The Chairman, thanked the honorable members for their sincere and unwavering supports since the inception of present administration.

 In his words "this is the last budget to be undertaken by this administration and we have been able to delivered on our mandate which has manifested in the Local Government been adjudged the best Local Government of the year in the recently concluded Ogun State Local Government Service Week". 

He further stated that the year 2024 proposed budget showed that, the proposed total budget is Six billion, Nine hundred and Ninety Three million, Two hundred and Eighty Seven thousand naira only (#6,993,287,000) for the year 2024 which is the projected revenue for year 2024 and it represents 17.07 % increase above the year 2023 approved budget. 

According to him, the proposed budget is expected to be financed from statutory allocation  from both Federal and State Government accounts as well as Internally Generated Revenue respectively. 

It is envisaged that the sum of Six billion, Seven hundred and Thirty-four million, Two hundred and Eighty Seven thousand  naira only (#6,734,287,000) of 96.30% of the budget size would be received as allocation from the federation account while the sum of One hundred and Twenty million naira (#120,000,000) or 1.72% would be received as allocation from the State Government.  


The sum of One hundred and Nineteen million naira only (#119,000,000) or 1.70% of the total budget size on the other hand would be generated from internal sources while the sum of Twenty million naira only (#20,000,000) is expected as Aids and Grants from the State Government. 

Going further, the Engr. Musa said the sum of Six billion, Nine hundred and Nine hundred and Ninety Three million, Two hundred and Eighty Seven thousand naira only(#6,993,287,000) being proposed for  services of the Council for this year is composed of the sum of Six billion, Seventy five million, Six hundred and Ninety Eight thousand naira (6,075,698,000) as recurrent expenditure and the sum of Nine hundred and Seventeen million Five hundred and Eighty Nine thousand (N917,589,000) as capital expenditure respectively.

While presenting the proposed budget tagged Budget Of Fulfillment, Engr.  Sheriff Musa wished the Legislative Council  a fruitful deliberation and  quick passage of the proposed budget

The first female Leader of the Legislative Council of Ado Odo Ota Local Government Hon. (Mrs.) Omosowon Bukola Balogun in her speech at the  presentation appreciated God Almighty for  being alive to  witness the third and final year budget presentation to the honorable house. She also appreciated the kind of leadership traits embedded in the life of the Executive Chairman who operates an open door system as his style of governance. 

She added that, their promises last year to keep on with the good work of the Governor of Ogun State His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON in conformity with his political agenda in transforming the lives of the good people of the State made the house to pass six (6) Bills into Bye-laws. 


The Bye-Laws were:

i. Bye-Law on community rate and other related matters.

ii. Passage of year 2022 Appropriations Bill.

iii. Passage of year 2023 Appropriation Bill.

iv. Passage of Bye-Law on naming of streets and other related matters.

v. Passage of Bye-Law on Review of Internally Generated Revenue Rates, Levies, Fines and other Matters connected with it.

vi. Passage of Bye-Law on Environmental Sanitation and Waste Management in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government and matters connected therewith.



The leader in her words added that  "the crops of Honorable members in this Hallow Chamber are knowledgeable, experienced, people friendly hardworking and lovers of  people at the grassroots". She affirmed that  year 2024 will be better than that of year 2023. She further stated that  the house will not relent on its oars  as there are three (3) bills awaiting passage into law already.

Present at the event were, the Vice Chairman, Mrs.Saidat Olatunbosun Animashaun , the Secretary to the local government, Mr Abiodun Akonthe Sejoro FCPA, all Executive members, Honorable members,  the Head of Local Government Administration Dr Adebola Bamgbose FCPA and Heads of various Department amongst others.
