President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and the people of Kaduna State following the tragic bombing mishap in Tundun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area, on Sunday.

The president reaction was contained in the statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

“President Bola Tinubu sympathizes with the families of victims, the people and the government of Kaduna State over the bombing mishap in a village at Tundun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.

“President Tinubu describes the incident as very unfortunate, disturbing, and painful, expressing anger and grief over the tragic loss of Nigerian lives.

“The President directed a thorough and full-fledged investigation into the incident and called for calm while the authorities looked diligently into the mishap.

“The President also directs swift and comprehensive medical attention for surviving victims while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased”, the statement read.

Similarly, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed concern over the bombing of the villagers in Kaduna.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker expressed worry that innocent people who were going about their lawful activities got killed in such circumstances and called for a thorough investigation by the Nigerian Army to ascertain what led to such ‘a costly mistake’.

According to him, “The Nigerian Army should leave no stone unturned to unravel what happened with a view to forestalling a repeat of such an unfortunate incident.”

He sent his heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Kaduna State, especially the families of those who lost their loved ones and those injured in the Tudun Biri community.

He prayed to Allah to grant them eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear the loss and quick recovery of those injured.

Recall that there was outrage across the country after the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed that the Army claimed responsibility for the airstrike which killed many on Sunday.

Many condemned the military for being unprofessional and called for the government to sack all those involved in the incident.
