Engr Musa Sherri Flags Off Outbreak Response Campaign In Ado Odo Ota LG |Omohglobalnews



In a bid to consolidate on the efforts of Ado -Odo Ota Local Government at combating diseases and providing services to the children against Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs) over the years , especially Polio paralysis, the Executive Chairman of the Council area Engr Sheriff Adewale Musa FCPA has flagged off the Oral Polio Vaccine ( OPV) for children between 0 - 59months in the Council area.

The Council Boss in his address during the flag off exercise urged parents  and guardians  to allow health workers to vaccinate their children between the ages of 0-59 months for free. He added that the opportunity provided by government should be utilized fully by all to kick against unwanted diseases from the Council area. He then kicked off the exercise  through vaccination of babies at the Council's   health care facility Ota.

Earlier speaking, the Director of Ado Odo Ota Primary Health   Care Dr Bakare jeleel Adediran has appreciated the effort of Ado Odo Ota Local Government for supporting services to children against Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VDPs) at all times. He added that the Federal, State and Local Government in order to sustain the achievement of polio free Nation and response to the recent outbreak of Circulating Various Polio Virus ( CPVV) that were discovered in some parts of the country will conduct the Outbreak Response (OBR) campaign targeting children from 0-59months starting from Tuesday 30th September to thursday 3rd September 2023 throughout Ado Odo Ota Local Government and the State.

Furthermore, Dr Bakare jaleel said that the exercise will involve the use of house to house vaccinating teams, fixed posts (Government Health Facilities) transit teams and others for administration of Oral Polio Vaccination (OPV), other Routine Antigens will be given at the fixed posts to eligible children. 

Health workers from the Ado Odo Ota Local Government Primary Health Care will be visiting homes and other designated places such as schools, markets, religious houses, motor parks and so on across the Council area to vaccinate eligible children against Pollomyelitis with Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) free of charge.
