Dr. Betta Edu, Minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, has said that the ministry would soon commence the distribution of the fuel subsidy palliatives to Nigerians.
Edu disclosed this on Friday during a Channels Television interview monitored by Omohglobalnews.
She noted the ministry would soon commence the distribution of the palliatives.
She said poverty alleviation is paramount to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. She added that the government would provide jobs to alleviate poverty.
“We are starting with the Verification of the social registrar to ensure that it is truly made of people who deserve the fund. We will be creating humanitarian jobs. “The ministry would be distributing palliatives to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal. “We will be very transparent to Nigerians; the target is to lift 133 million Nigerians by 2030”.
We had earlier reported that Dr. Betta Edu, upon assumption of office on Monday, pledged commitment to lifting 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.
