Chairman Mushin Local Govt, Hon. Bamigboye addressing the press
The Igbo - Owu Primary Health Centre in Mushin Local Government today received teams of Nigerian Born International Medical experts from the United States of America, who have come to administer Free Medical Services to the people of Mushin Local Government through a partnership initiative facilitated of the EKO CLUB ATLANTA.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government - Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, expressed appreciation to the team led by Hon. Deji Ajiboye (president), Hon. Adewale Jafojo (Vice President), Hon. Deji Thani - Olodo (Chairman of Medical Mission) and Hon. Wunmi Akinsanya (Co - Chair of Medical Mission).

In his speech, the council boss, stated that "the wealth of every nation is determined by the level and quality of healthy living conditions of its citizens", emphasizing that Health is Wealth.
He went further to explain that, only a healthy society can boast of productivity and economic growth as his administration is not relenting in its efforts towards improving the healthy living among its work force.

The Eko Club Atlanta Medical team, which comprised 10 medical doctors, 4 pharmacists, 6 pharmaceutical - technologists, Optometrists, Dentists, also came with various equipment and kits which were used for the numerous medical services as follows:
- Prostrate Cancer screening
- Cervical Cancer Screening
- Breast Cancer Screening
- Hepatitis A & B Screening
- Eye test
- Tooth Scaling and polishing
After the tests and screening exercise, patients were given treatments and medications including Free Eye glasses and food stuffs for the elderly people.
Photos at the eventAbout 600 patients benefitted from the Free Medical Mission today as many people also went home with various medications, food stuffs like rice, spaghetti, noodles etc.
In his interview, the president of Eko Club Atlanta - Hon. Deji Ajiboye stated that the team is a group of Lagosians who are based in Atlanta - Georgia in US, rendering humanitarian services to their people back home in Nigeria. He further explained that the group has been in existence since June 2000.
Part of their contributions included donation of items for the equipment of a Maternity Ward named after the club at Randle General Hospital in Surulere, donation of Computers to the Lagos State University for the equipment of the university's computer laboratory and donation of a 40 feet container with books, to Lagos State Government.
The Free Medical Mission which started on Monday 24th April at the office of Lagos State Parks and Garages in Oko Oba, Agege, went through to Ojodu on Tuesday, Oke Arin Market on Wednesday, Ikate Methodist Church on Thursday and ended at Igbo Owu Primary Health Centre in Mushin Local Government on Friday 28th April, 2023.

Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye in his final message, enjoined members of the public to always make good use of the free medical missions being conducted by the government and other agencies as opportunities, to know their health status and get free medical services. He advised them that good health is very important as it determines livelihood and other basic activities of life.
Beneficiaries at the programme also thanked the facilitators for bringing the programme to their neighbourhood in Mushin Local Government. They prayed for the club and more power to sustain the mission for the benefit of the less privileged who cannot afford the cost of maintaining good and healthy living.
